CONVERTING RADICAL TO EXPONENTIAL Course
To convert radical to exponential grade, let the states first consider the equivalent form of radical.
Convert the radical grade to exponential form :
Problem i :
(5 √x)3
Solution :
5th root tin be written as power 1/5.
( 5 √x)three = (tenone/five)three
To simplify the term, which is having a power raised to another power, nosotros tin can multiply the powers.
( 5 √x)iii= x(1/5) ten 3
= x3/five
Problem 2 :
(3 √y4)
Solution :
Cube root can exist written as power i/3.
(iii√y4) = (y4)i/3
= y4/3
Problem 3 :
(√xv)
Solution :
Foursquare root can be written as power 1/2.
( √x5) = (x 5 ) 1/2
= x5/2
Trouble 4 :
(3 √5)3
Solution :
Cube root can be written as ability one/iii.
( 3 √5)three = (5( 1/iii) ) three
= 5three/three
= 5
Problem 5 :
√(16x2)
Solution :
Square root can be written as ability 1/2.
√(16x 2 ) = (16xii ) ane/2
16 can exist written as 42
√(16x ii ) = (42ten2 ) 1/2
= ((4x)2)1/2
= (4x) 2 ⋅ (1/2)
= 4x
Trouble vi :
i/(√(6x))3
Solution :
Square root tin be written as power i/2.
1/(√(6x)) 3 = 1/[(6x)1/two]3
= i/(6x)( 1/ii) x 3
= ane/(6x)( 3/2)
When we move the term from numerator to denominator or denominator to numerator, we accept to change the sign of the ability.
= (6x)-3/2
Problem seven :
1/(4√x)vii
Solution :
Fourth root tin be written as power 1/4.
ane/( iv √x) seven = ane/(x1/4)7
= i/x( i/four ) ⋅ vii
= 1/10(7 /iv )
= ten-7/4
Trouble 8 :
one/√(5x)
Solution :
Square root can be written equally ability 1/two.
1/√(5x) = i/(5x)i/2
= (5x)-1/2
